The Kuvasz Club of America is proud to celebrate “Peace, Love and Kuvasz” at our 28th National Specialty Event. The show committee has been working hard to plan a fantastic event for Kuvasz members, enthusiasts and exhibitors complete with fun gatherings, exciting events and great trophies. Please mark your calendar, find your tie dye shirts or bell bottoms, and come celebrate with us!

Show Location

Country Comfort Boarding & Grooming, 3215 Cannonball Trail, Yorkville, IL 60560

Country Comfort Boarding & Grooming is a privately owned facility. The conformation, obedience, and rally events will take place outside (rain or shine) in a grassy, tented area. The KCA will have food items available ringside. During the facility’s off hours, members and exhibitors can use the fully enclosed outdoor yards to allow dogs off-leash.. Dog bathing facilities, showers, and changing rooms are also available to exhibitors.

This year the KCA has an agreement with two hotels to accommodate everyone coming to the National Specialty. Please remember that it is becoming increasingly harder to find hotels willing to accommodate people with dogs. Please be kind to the staff at the hotels and above all, clean up after your dog!   • At check-in, guests will need a photo ID and credit card. The card will be authorized for the full amount of their stay and a $100 incidental hold. The incidental fee will cover market purchases, as well as the pet fee. Charges will be finalized at checkout.

Camping/Motor Home Parking

Big Rock Campgrounds, 46W499 Granart Rd., Big Rock, IL; teltel. 1-630-232-5980; Campground Website. Located 11.8 miles away from Country Comfort, the Big Rock campgrounds features full amenities and hook-ups. The cost for an RV spot is $35 a night. Due to the holiday weekend, it is recommended that anyone who wishes to camp during the KCA National get their reservation in early.

4:00 PM There will be free grooming spaces at this show. However, reservations are recommended so that the KCA can ensure that social distancing guidelines are followed and that your grooming spot will be yours for the entire time. It is recommended that if you want to be next to a particular person, you send the grooming in together. An official form can be found on the Onofrio website at www.onofrio.com.

9:00 AM Judges Education with Agi Hejja in the training room at CCB&G.
10:00 AM Kuvasz Club of America National Specialty Conformation Sweepstakes and Veteran Sweepstakes to be judged by Ms. Mary Lee. Specialty Breed Judging to be judged by Dr. Andrea Bradford.

  • 4-6 month puppy competition
  • Pee Wee Juniors
  • Junior Showmanship
  • Regular conformation classes (Dog, Bitches, Veterans, National Owner Handler Series)
  • Non-regular classes (Best Bred-By, Best Puppy, Best Veteran, Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Generation)
1:00 PM KCA Designated Specialty to be judged by Mrs. Barbara Burns.
6:00 PM KCA Annual Awards Banquet to be held ringside under the tent.
Cost $25/person.

Saturday, September 5

Sweepstakes to be judged by Ms. Judith Cooper.

Seminar: Basic Laws That Every Dog Owner Should Know

Kuvasz breeder and KCA Board member Maria Arechaederra will offer Specialty attendees an overview of basic laws that every dog owner should know, particularly pertaining to insurance law. Maria is a Senior Trial Attorney specializing in insurance litigation for USAA and all other major carriers and has practiced law for 34 years in Wisconsin and California. She has litigated hundreds of dog-related cases. Every dog owner can benefit from this important seminar. Don’t miss it!
